Action #9: Landing on the Red Square

"You have to be young to be able to re-act."
(Hana Batistič)

 Description

On May 28th 1987 a Cessna 172B flew undetected all the way from Malmi airport in Helsinki, landing in Moscow's Red Square.
After a few minutes, the young german pilot Mathias Rust got out of the plane and gave people his autograph. He was then arrested by the Soviet authorities and his plane confiscated.
Rust flew into the Soviet Union on the national border guard's holiday. The date was chosen on purpose because it's well known that during this holiday every national guardian is drunk.

On January 2009 Mare Bulc will re-enact this action landing on Irwin's "Black Square on the Red Square".
